So this week we learned about antonyms, the letter Mm, the number 11, and addition and subtraction. We also focused our character training on having faith, and we spent some time learning about birds. A busy busy week. A side note...since next year Jr Bug will be completing Science with Tater I have decided for the rest of the year, Jr Bug will be included in many science and social study activities as possible. So that's why he is in some of the science class pictures.
So I'll let the pictures tell you a story of our hard work this week.
Tater writing down what she knows about birds. We will revisit this worksheet at the end of this unit.
Here is Jr Bug matching bird pictures in science class.
Tater is teaching her brother and Mommy about the life cycle of a bird.
Putting her poster together to teach us.
We decided to build nests since we are learning about birds. Here are the kiddos pretending to be mommy birds and getting leaves to build their nests.
Getting ready for take-off.
Making our nests.
We needed more leaves and dirt.
Finished nests, we are letting them dry.
And as for the rest of our week:
Learning that the word antonym means opposite.
Learning that m is for monkey.
Smiling while taking her math test?!?!
I recently went to Dollar Tree and bought their version of do a dot markers...guess who enjoyed using them. The number 11.
Again with the do a dot. The letter M. I think I found a favorite.
Learning about the letter M from the computer. Look at the concentration.
Circling all the M's.
And of course the M is also for marshmallow.
And after you learn, of course you get to eat your snack.
M is also for mouse. So we made one this week.
Another Dollar Tree find. I so love that store.
Working on her writing exercises.
He is working on his writing exercises too.
Making 11 towers. Yes even legos can be used during school time.
See that tongue sticking out, that's his concentration face.
Using a 100's chart to learn her math.
This week has been crazy busy with our unit study on birds and all of our other lessons. So stay tuned for next week when we learn more about our feathered friends and more with our regular studies.
